CThank you for choosing to visit the wonderful state of Alaska! As long-time Alaskan residents, we take pride in helping visitors make the most of their trip and will do everything we can to ensure your experience is a great one!

We are currently receiving a high volume of reservation inquiries for Summer 2026. At this time, we are confident in our approach to early bookings. In recent years, major franchise rental companies have had to cancel early reservations due to limited inventory, leaving many travelers without vehicles. Likewise, some rideshare platforms have allowed hosts to cancel bookings up to 24 hours before arrival, often without recourse for guests.

At Alaska Adventure Car and Camper Van Rental, we’ve been proud to stand apart by honoring every confirmed reservation. To continue guaranteeing availability, we require a non-refundable deposit ($250 to $500) at the time of booking. Please note that it takes considerable effort and coordination to ensure a vehicle is ready for you upon arrival—no matter the circumstances.

Because airline schedules can change, we’re happy to adjust pick-up and drop-off times, based on availability, at no additional charge. We also strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance for added peace of mind.

We’re located just two miles from the airport and close to most airport hotels. This convenient setup helps you avoid the 11% airport rental tax. If you prefer, we can arrange a local pickup in the Anchorage area and are happy to provide return transportation to the airport for your departure.

Policies 

• You must be at least 25 years of age and hold a current, valid driver’s license. Drivers under 25 may rent if they provide proof of full-coverage auto insurance in their name.
• Proof of liability insurance is required. If you don't have coverage, we offer optional Liability Coverage and CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) for an additional fee.
• We include windshield and tire damage coverage for an additional $9.00 per day.
• You may reserve a vehicle by class; however, should the reserved vehicle be unavailable, we guarantee a similar or larger vehicle at no extra cost.
• A deposit by credit or debit card is required to confirm all reservations. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. A 5% credit card courtesy fee applies to all credit card payments. This fee is waived if the remaining balance is paid by cash or check when you pick up your vehicle. 
• Road Restrictions are strictly enforced, and all vehicles are GPS equipped. Driving on unpaved or gravel roads is prohibited, including the Dalton Highway, North of Fairbanks, Petersville Road, and all roads in Canada. Violations will result in a $500 per day penalty for the duration of the rental. Travel on the Denali Highway and McCarthy Road is permitted by prior authorization only. If approved, a $350 will apply for required inspection and cleaning. Authorization must be requested at the time of reservation or pick up. 
• Mechanical Problems: Our vehicles are carefully maintained and fully serviced before every rental. However, if you experience any mechanical issues while on the road, don’t worry—many problems can be resolved quickly with a simple fix. There are numerous reputable service providers throughout Alaska, and we’ll guide you to the closest and most efficient option to get you back on your way as soon as possible. Alaska Adventure Car and Camper Van Rental will cover all towing, parts, and labor costs required for repairs. Please note that we cannot reimburse for time lost or any consequential losses that may result from a delay. If your vehicle cannot be repaired within a reasonable timeframe (typically 3–4 hours), we will provide a replacement vehicle, usually within 6–8 hours. However, if a breakdown occurs due to failure to exercise ordinary care—such as damage caused while operating the vehicle on unpaved roads (including flat tires)—you will be responsible for all costs and damages associated with returning the vehicle to our Anchorage location.
• All of our vehicles are nonsmoking. A $200 fee applies if you smoke in any of our cars.
• Reservation change fees may apply for changes in arrival and departure times and dates that are made less than 30 days from arrival, depending upon availability.
• We do not refund early returns.
• You must return the vehicle in the same condition that you received it, excluding normal wear and tear. Details of incidental charges can be found on your reservation confirmation.
